original or reprint?

this question has probably been asked loads before, but how can you tell which amiibo is an original or reprint?
for example, my OOT link is from the original printings and his number starts with 4. my MM link was a reprint and his number starts with 2. maybe these numbers mean nothing. but if anyone could help out or point me in the right direction, thanks.
