Hey folks! I know a lot of lurkers are on here because they are deciding to apply for Amex cards but aren’t sure about approval. I just wanted to share that with relatively meh credit (700 ish TU, 720 ish EQ), an existing 45k NSLSC loan and only one low limit non-Amex credit card, and a terrible credit history pre 2019, I was approved! I was not approved instantly but was approved after I got a verification call.

Thanks everyone on this sub for the help, encouragement around approvals, etc. I’m very excited to have access to a CC with points, rental and travel insurance, perks, and a not-useless credit limit. It’s gonna be a financial planning game changer!
