I tried using my green card in Mexico a couple weeks ago and it was denied every time I ended up using my Mastercard each time. I messaged Amex they said it was a merchant issue and not an issue with the card.
2 weeks later I am on vacation in st Lucia and try to use it at a duty free shop right out side of a cruise ship terminal, it has the Amex sticker and they employees say absolutely took an Amex this morning, it was denied. I message Amex again and again they say itβs a merchant issue.
Can anyone shed some light on what I should be doing to reliably have my Amex accepted internationally at places that are verified to accept Amex?
