I flew home for Christmas yesterday and was in a rush to get home since the roads were really bad due to all the inclement weather and noticed that one of my suitcases’ wheels had broken off and that the zipper on another had fallen off. It was too bad to go back out all the way back to the airport and it’s literally Christmas today and didn’t want to have to go back outside, especially due to the roads still being bad. Is there anything I can do since I’ve missed the 24 hour window of time. I called on the phone and the person was really rude. I understand why the rule is in place however, it’s not always realistic for someone to go back to the airport within 24 hours just to file a claim for a damaged bag.
