I’m in Mexico and the single daly flight to Miami is delayed over 4 hours due to some sort of equipment problem and we will miss our connecting flight that was booked on the same ticket. Nobody here at the AA desk can give us a straight answer but, looking on my phone app it looks like we’ve been booked on another flight out of MIA tomorrow morning.

I’m assuming AA will put us up in a hotel in Miami? Will we be given sort of additional compensation or should I ask? Because of this we will have to pay our pet sitter an additional day and purchase some toiletries as we didn’t expect to be delayed

I’ve never had to deal with this before so don’t know what to expect
