Post Body

My 23-year-old recently moved to Philly. We live in Dallas, TX. I've worked for Southwest Airlines for 20 years, so my son has never flown on any airline other than SWA. Unfortunately, SWA doesn't offer direct flights from PHL to Dallas, but AA does. I'm trying to figure out how things work for AA booking, etc. I recently created a AA account and I plan to get my son to make one as well. We all have TSA Pre. I have many questions. Can I sign in to my account and book a flight for him? When I book it, do I specify his KTN and AAdvantage number? Will that add his flight to his account (iPhone app)? I assume there is a check-in process to get your boarding pass, can I check him? Will I receive an email when I book him with his confirmation number (PNR)? Can I check him in using the PNR? I assume he can then access his BP on the app and store it in his Apple wallet? He generally takes a rolling bag and backpack on board; is that allowed on AA (backpack under the front seat, rolling bag in the overhead)? And lastly, how does the boarding work for AA? Do they call you up by row? Sorry for all the questions.

So first

Log into his aa profile and add the ktn so it is associated with his aa profile.

You can book flights, one of two ways and honestly just comes down to how much you trust your son.

You can stay logged into his profile. Search for flights and then add your credit card to his profile. And because it's his profile, all of his information will autopopulate in the passenger section

Or you can log into your profile search for flights. Add your credit card and then manually. Enter all his demographic. Information into the passenger section

There is a spot for an email Address to receive the documents for the flight. But even if you send the documents to yourself and your own email, the flight will still show up in his american app.

Odd because I sign into and manage account for my whole family. Just booked son 1 to Disney in December and son 2 to dayton in a week
