Such a large price difference between BE and main!?

Ok, yes I get it, NEVER fly basic economy. But how in the world can you resist when it’s $141 round trip on BE or $314 for main? Especially for my family of 4 I quite literally will save $700 to choose basic. Is this just some sort of strategy by AA?

If you have status (especially platinum or higher) it doesn’t make sense to book Main Cabin if you are okay with the no changes or non-refundable part of the ticket. Your status gets you free bags and free MCE seats.
