Is my flight ever going to leave Cancun???

Post Body

My family and I came to a resort in Cancun for Spring Break. We were booked on AA1273 to fly back to Dallas yesterday evening at 5:38PM. At 5:20PM we were told there was a slight delay. Then we were updated to a 6:20PM departure. Then a 8PM departure. Then an announcement came that we would have an overnight delay. We had to go back through customs, board a bus and go to another resort. We were told that our flight would leave at 9AM, so be ready to go at 6:30AM When we finally got checked in, it was almost midnight. And my family of 4 was booked in to a bed with a single king bed and no sofa. We finally got them to bring us a roll away bed and got to sleep around 1AM. 5:30 AM came and it was time for us to wake up and start again. While in line, we received notification that we were delayed until 11:30AM. While we were eating (an almost $200 meal we were not planning on) we got notification that we were now delayed until 2PM. Then 2:20, then 4. Then, the inevitable happened and we are now back at another hotel. We have a 9AM departure time at this time, but were told that there were no guarantees that we would get to leave tomorrow. I have never experienced this, and this is our first international trip. Can anyone offer any advice because these 300/400 days at the airport are rapidly emptying the coffers.

Edit: It is actually AA1723. Sorry, lack of sleep and long days led me to transpose the numbers.
