I recently did my first ever flight from the East coast to Hawaii with a connecting flight in LA.
When looking at the arrival of my first flight and departure of my second I saw we had less than an hour between them. The first flight got delayed by 20 minutes because they were âwaiting on a member of their crew to show upâ which cut into my already short layover. By the time I got off the plane and got to my connecting flight everyone was already boarded (I guess they held the plane for those of us who were late for our connection through no fault of their own) this meant there was absolutely zero time to stop and get anything to eat on the plane. Iâm currently pregnant and am not supposed to go long without eating but also am not allowed to eat any prepared food that isnât temperature controlled. So my plan was to buy some on board snacks. When I went to buy some the flight attendant said that they ran out of snacks to purchase by the time they got to row six.
This meant that I was now going to go over 12 hours with absolutely no food except for the pretzels and cookies they gave me one each of. When I asked how they ran out so fast of food for purchase and wondered if there was anything else because I was starting to feel like I was going to pass out the flight attendant said I should have bought a seat in the front and that I needed to calm down. I was calm. I literally asked a simple question and told her I felt ill since if I did faint Iâd need some sort of assistance.
I did have a sandwich packed, but it was so hot where I was that the cheese and everything melted in it and it felt unsafe to me to eat considering when you are pregnant your immune system is compromised and food poisoning is much more likely.
Iâm just wondering if it is normal for them to make connecting flights so close that you donât even have time to go to the bathroom let alone try to get something to eat, especially considering that it doesnât seem like airlines feed you at all. I want to be better prepared for my next flight and was wondering how everyone else ate on long flights.
Edit: yâall are rude and toxic for absolutely no reason. I guess I learned my lesson about asking any sort of questions on this app. Thanks for making me feel ever worse guys. Great job.
Sounds like you should be pissed at fiancés family for not considering that you were pregnant.
