Loyal to AA but…

Post Body

ORD is my home airport. I really have no reason to be loyal to American as ORD is a United hub. Now granted Chicago is a huge destination and I can take most business trips direct from ORD on American. But lately, I have noticed United is beating American on flight price sometimes by 150-200 dollars (one way). I have flown United 3 times in 5 years I don’t know much about their culture, who flys them, are they dependable. I don’t want to abandon my constant pursuit of American LP’s but perhaps I should consider being a dual citizen and just fly both airlines. Can anyone talk about having mid tier status on two airlines instead of high status on just one? Curious to know what others would do in this situation.

For reference, I exclusively fly American, take 2-4 business trips a month, have the admirals credit card, and play the Rocketmiles game for personal hotel travel.

Comments

I’m not sure any of the airlines care to have loyalty from fliers that prioritize price.
