At some point in the recent past (might have been around the time of the Android 12 update?) the tap controls on my Echo buds stopped working, specifically in the Kindle app.
For context, the tap controls work as normal in other apps (including Amazon Music). With the Kindle app, however, I get the tones that let me know I tapped, but nothing actually happens. This is particularly frustrating since I listen to audio books while I work, and now every time some coworker or my boss comes up to me to babble 5 seconds worth of something I don't care about, I have to pull my phone out and pause in the app, or pull the buds out of my ears to stop the audio, then manually restart it.
I have tried everything I can think of, from resetting the tap commands in the app all the way to making both phone and app forget them and doing a factory reset. Same results, tap controls work in every app but the Kindle app, where I need them most.
Anyone had this problem or know a fix?
