Needing help understanding the ZigBee capability on the Echo for a SmartThings water sensor

Post Body

A local store has some Samsung SmartThings devices, including a water sensor which I've been shopping for. I don't want to buy the Samsung hub they also have but I'm open to getting a 4th gen Echo. Is there any easy way to know whether the Echo and this water sensor will work together? I'm fairly new to this type of thing and don't understand the ZigBee stuff very well.

Thanks for any help!
