New with echoDot 2 coming. What is best to get?

So I have been looking at posts and it seems slim as to whats best and no tech preview stuff say anything?
So best hub and why? Also what is compatible with the hub without having to buy another hub? Best lights? Best switches? What's the most useful skill? what's the most fun skill?
So on and so forth....
I hope I can get some help here and hopefully this will be useful to others.
