Hello everyone. It's my hope I can get some sage advice from this sub on my topic.

I don't want to get into too many details in this post so I will try to explain a bit more loosely.

There is a repeater that I know of that is operational but it is not longer maintained by anyone. I found the club that was in charge of it some years ago. I was able to contact one of the club members (she is no longer affiliated), she related that the people in charge of it are no longer affiliated with the organization in which is resides. I believe I have validated that this is indeed true.

So, assuming that the repeater is indeed orphaned, how can I go about taking it over?

I am affiliated with the organization and a licensed HAM.

EDIT UPDATE: I have at least two other HAMs that want to take it over as well. I have physical access.
