I have decided to undertake attempts to lower my noise floor at my shack. One of the things I've heard mixed reports of working is adding a choke to the coax feed line - some say this can lower the noise floor noticeably.
I found this LDG 1:1 for $30 https://www.gigaparts.com/ldg-ru-1-1-unun.html
I also found one for more than double the price from Palomar Engineering. https://palomar-engineers.com/ferrite-products/ferrite-beads/MINI-CHOKER-Coax-Line-Isolator-500-Watts-PEP-up-to-38Db-Common-Mode-Rejection-1-61-MHz-1-1-Unun-p144638185
Other than the Palomar Engineering one being rated for 500w vs 200w, are they going to perform exactly the same? Are you mostly paying for the name with Palomar Engineering or will the choke perform better?
