Like the title says; I made a fan dipole. Its positioning isnt ideal but its the best I can do where I live. Its in a bit of an inverted V. The center is on a pole about 18ft above the ground and the ends are about 10ft, so I imagine the radiating pattern to be better suited for NVIS, but I havnt done much testing for range yet. Picture of antennas attached. I trimmed the radiating elements to be resonant near the center of 40m and 20m.
To satisfy curiosity, I turned my radio to 80m and.... it shows me an swr of a little under 1.5 there too
So my question is.... should I try and make some 80m contacts with it and see how it goes? Or is there some kind of illusion going on that I'm overlooking. It shouldn't work on 80m that we'll right?
