Antenna ideas for big open roof without anchoring points or trees
Post Body

hey all. So my university's radio club finally will have a space to put some antennas on. Its a roof about 120x40, no trees, no metal railings. The sides are low mason walls, a couple of feet. I was thinking that in this configuration, putting up many masts or poles to hold up a wire antenna would be a waste of poles and mast because we'd need at least two poles for a dipole or even more for a loop. I am thinking verticals or a directional antenna. Directional with all the rotator and controls would get expensive really fast but with verticals, I'm also afraid that it will be noisy. This is an urban area.

Do you guys have any other ideas? Whats the best performing vertical that I could put up there?

Thanks
