Brand new to amateur astronomy and have become addicted!

When I saw I'm new to amateur astronomy, I mean very new. I've always enjoyed using binoculars to look at the moon, and sometimes Mars and Venus, or semi brightish stars.
I recently purchased a super cheap Panasonic telescope, and I'm already amazed by what I can see from my backporch in the middle of the city!
Any tips or resources you recommend? I'd love to find a local stargazing group or something.
