First Amateur fight this Saturday, very nervous
Post Body

Title says it all.

I have my first bout this Saturday. I’ve been training for a little over a year.

I’ve sparred a few times with people over my weight class (I’m 61 kg) but never against anyone my weight class yet.

What’s the best way to prepare for my fight? I am very very nervous and my heart can’t stop beating.

My training is a 5km run in morning with bag work shadow boxing and then evening I do my boxing class additional training. Averaging around 3-4 hours a day 5x a week.

I’m gonna ask my coaches advice when I see him tomorrow but any additional tips would be grateful.

I feel the biggest problem with me is that I tend to train really hard but when it comes to sparring I find myself holding back/getting gassed too easily. It’s like I don’t have full trust in my strength and I automatically assume the person I’m facing is better than I am.

How can I fix my mentality cause I am really really scared.

Thank you for your help everyone!!
