Thoughts on a new gym
Post Body

Is it seen as bad or disloyal to join another gym? I’ve been at a gym for 3 years and have 1 amateur fight two years ago. I haven’t been to the gym in six months.

I’ve been going to a new gym but the coach wants to call my old coach to ensure that he is not steeling a fighter and protect his name.

I still keep in contact with my coaches. I even go to church with one (not the main coach) who focuses on his son who is a pro.

I think this new gym is good because it’s -shaves 15 min off my commute -there’s another girl for me to spar -there’s two coaches instead of 10 different coaches to report to which makes it easy to know who I’m training with and what is being taught (having a lot of coaches was ambiguous) -it’s a fresh start

My goal is to just be consistent with training and learn something new each time. Then at that point if I do that then consider fighting. The coaches know that. They’re treating me light a fighter already

I’m worried how my coach will think of me and how the boxing community will think

Am I making it too big of a deal? Does this reflect badly on my name
