When I throw a jab & a cross in a row, the hip still kind of wants to do the left hip rotation (inertia from the left hip rotation for the jab) while i am doing right hip rotation for the cross. Is this a normal phenomenon, or can i fix this without losing full commitment to strikes? Added a video. I have seen a lot of pro boxing and ufc fights, and their one two has no delay. Like 0.5 then 1 in tempo as opposed to my 1 then delay then 3 tempo.
I watched my own video, and talking out of ass, when i throw the second shot, i seem to be adjusting my right hip, foot, etc BEFORE i initiate a pent up pressure in the right hip, foot, leg, etc. Which causes a delay while i am adjusting my hips before the second shot begins. Or, again talking out of ass wishfully, i am overextending my left shot and excess inertia is causing the drag effect when i try to turn the hip the other way immediately.
My coach tells me to not to use force for my strikes for now but to hammer the forms into my body. And when i do not use force and do not commit to my punches, i can throw one two (jab cross) or even jab, cross, hook, uppercut (that was the last thing he made me do) smooth and fast with correct form including foot, leg, hip, etc rotations. (But no power there cause not committed.) It is only when i commit to punches that i feel my second punch having to fight through the inertia from the previous hip rotation.
