I've been studying alot of old school boxers from the 50s-70s like suga ray robinson, ali, willie pastrano, Thomas hearns, leonard etc
A few things I've noticed about the boxers from that era:
they have a more narrow stance in comparison to the wider stable base stance in modern day boxers?
they also throw their jabs out like a whip with a strong snap from the waist whereas today I see alot of fighters opt for a stiff jab from the high guard that has more push behind it.
boxers from those times would also be circling their opponents changing directions in comparisons to todays boxing
Follow up question: is circling into the opponent power hand bad if you're you slip and counter? This is also another technique I came across from old school boxers
These are just some of things I've noticed about their style. Would their technique/style work in todays boxing?
