Hello guys and gals. There's been some chit and some chat about this year's Reddit meet up.

I had some issues with the conversations about the location. I didn't think meeting at a bar or other adult venue was the proper way to have a reddit meetup. I think it's important to have an environment that is PG13 and kid friendly.

The entire point of the meetup, in my mind, is to provide an atmosphere for all types of people to meet face to face in a safe and productive fashion. Its purpose is for disjointed users to interact with new people who may share similar interests and/or ideas. Having the meetup in a place that limits the audience makes absolutely no sense to me.

So, I went ahead and rented an event room at the Ambassador Hotel of Amarillo located off I-40 & Georgia. We're confirmed for Saturday, June the 14th. That's about 2 more Saturdays from now. I've booked the space for 2PM-5PM, but I have the option of extending the hours. It can accommodate 20 -50 people. They staff was incredibly friendly and very eager to set us up.

At the very least, it's a smoke and alcohol free zone and children friendly. But, there's a decent bar inside TGI Fridays and we can always step outside to choke down a square. And we can always party the way we're accustomed to after the event.

If things work like I hope, I'll have some type of itinerary, guestbook, group photo op and fingers crossed, I'll be live streaming the event. Any suggestion or comments are most definitely welcome and I have every intention in making this a group event, so if anyone is interested in making a contribution and/or help running the event, please feel free to email me. Let's make this meetup the most awesome thing we've done in a while, I'd love to see this become a regular thing!
