Majority of rides closed?

We’re visiting the park today (and really only planned on today as we are heading to London tomorrow morning) and the vast majority of the rides are closed.
Is this normal? Are they going to stay closed all day?
Do we have any recourse for a refund or a free ticket if they all stay closed?
