What Would You Consider Essential Altcomix Reading?

Hey all, long time lurker on the sub, and I have seen a lot of interesting work on here and I think I'd like to expand my horizons a bit with noteworthy works from this genre. For context I was a long time Marvel/DC guy, but now I mostly read independent comics from the likes of Image, Boom, etc.
Are there any good books to introduce someone to the genre, reading that everyone in the community has heard about? Any help would greatly appreciated, and thank you for your time!
