Dome Structure

Post Body

A dome is a feature in structural geology consisting of symmetrical anticlines that intersect each other at their respective apices. Intact, domes are distinct, rounded, spherical-to-ellipsoidal-shaped protrusions on the Earth's surface.

The cause for these is usually being an impact strike. Yet there is one dome structure that defies this explanation. The Richat structure.

Not only is it not an impact site, it's structure is far more defined then those it is classified with. So what caused it?

I have an idea that recently came to me. I state it only as an idea, as I've yet to dig in and research the possibilities surrounding it.

We know that it wasn't cause by an impact. Yet it is clearly a scar. Something happened here. My idea, which I hope to one day provide a working theory on, is that the Richat structure was produced by a launch. A vehicle intended for space, large enough that the means of thrust warped the ground beneath it.

Now many are going to say, no. This is where Atlantis was built. And that very well may be possible. I am not in any way suggesting this isn't the location of Atlantis. In fact, if my idea is true, it could lend itself to that rich history. Give meaning as to why this location was chosen. As it would be the site in which the Atlantean forefathers returned to the heavens.
