I don’t know how express this. Like I’m getting bombarded with conflicting information and reports. Beings of light and love, beings on fear and darkness.

It’s overwhelming, and do acknowledge that aliens, like humans, are probably not totally monolithic in idea or action.

I just want to exist peacefully and I am terrified.

Sure, some of you will say that we should be terrified, cautious, and thinking otherwise is naïve. Others will say that only those that are peaceful can develop technology over millions of years without self destruction.

I truly hope it’s the latter and not the former. I’m keeping in mind that this is Reddit. Doomerism (or really any negative idea) is kinda prevalent.

Like tbf, some of these things put forward are meh. Like, remember all those world ending events that were “supposed” to happen? 2012, Y2K, the Cold War, WWII, the Great War, the Great Depression, the fall of the Roman Empire, the fall of the Byzantine empire, et cetera. It’s getting old at this point.

My real question is, should I plan for the future?
