I work pretty much every day (at home), seven days a week. Decided to allow myself some alcohol during the holiday season and here are my observations regarding my productivity:
Without alcohol: I work assiduously through my tasks. It's rather mundane and uninteresting, but I get through them in a timely manner.
With alcohol: Things seem rather less mundane and uninteresting under the influence of alcohol, yet I find myself getting through them in a sluggish and inefficient manner, oftentimes getting distracted and delayed/procrastinative.
I would say, overall, my productivity is about the same with, or without, alcohol. Make of that what you will. At least without alcohol, I find myself with some extra time to indulge/do other tasks non-work related, whereas with alcohol, almost everything is a blur.
