Watching my dad die from late stage alcoholism
Post Body

When your liver stops working, all those toxins form a liquid in your abdominal cavity around your organs. As it grows, it presses on your organs, causing hernias and disfunction. It’s horribly painful. Your body is slowly being ripped open from the inside out. Dad gets the paracentesis done weekly. He broke the hospital record last week at 13 liters drained off his abdomen. Four days later he could hardly stand and was panting heavily when my sister sent him to the ER. They drained 11 more liters off. That’s 12 two liters of coke worth of toxic liquid coming out of his body in ten days. I’m watching him die a slow, painful death and he isn’t even drinking anymore. This is what happens when you don’t stop. And we all have to join him in his suffering.
