Had a sponsee relapse last night. Called me after the fact. I had just helped him get started on Step 8. Said he used without thinking.

I’ve had plenty of sponsees relapse. Sometimes early on, sometimes after a 5th Step, even up to and after the 12th. But, not a single one has stuck it out past a year.

Hard to see other people who’s sponsees keep at it, while I seem to only have a laundry list of people I couldn’t help. Coming up on nine years, just feel like a colossal failure. I still have other people to work with. I know I need to stay out of the results and not treat the people I sponsor like Pokémon cards. Still stings… questioning if I just really suck at this?
