I am 36 years old and have been going to meetings since I was 19 years old, primarily in Boston, MA, and surrounding towns. Over the past couple of years I've noticed a strong downturn in the number of young alcoholics seeking recovery from Alcoholics Anonymous. My question is, does the advent of "woke" culture, the rise of everything LBGTQ , the new normal of introducing oneself with proper pronouns, and just about every other facet of the Millenial/Gen Z ethos-- is AA ready to adapt? What im getting at here is.... is there a connection between the disproportionate number of young people I've noticed at mmeetings lately and the institution of AA not exactly being the most welcoming and tolerant place for those of us who've adapted all the aforementioned values.
(This is a serious question, from a member of AA)
