How do you pray? What works for your recovery?

I don’t do a lot of prayer, but I do a fair amount of meditation. I write to connect to God and ask him what his will is for me often, titling a page “God, what would you have me do regarding ____” and then writing what comes back to me. This works great for feeling connected to my Higher Power. How do you pray in this program? What works for you?
