Hey AA, never actually reached out to anyone about my problem, let alone post online like I am now.
Over the past 3years (especially during and after COVID), Ive developed a serious alcohol addiction. I am now up to a bottle of rum every afternoon after work, and I can easily smash a bottle on my own every night (No this is not an exaggeration). Im a carpenter, and its gotten to the point where I think my body has developed a tolerance so high that I almost never get a bad hangover in the morning.
It started off with just a beer, maybe 2 every night from a 6pack, gradually building up to 2 6packs a night, then finally on the rum. I might have 1 or 2 rum and coke’s a night mixed quite strong for my liking, then ofcourse that escalated to 3 or 4 a night, up to the point where I am now, smashing down a bottle every night with ease — Please dont think I am boasting, this is nothing to be proud of. But I have no idea how to stop now 😔
Are there any medical professionals here on Reddit, or maybe even people that have been in the same boat as me now and conquered, that can tell me what I can soon expect with my health if I dont change?
