Im typing this while drinking now….26 year old man here. I quit drinking for 3 years after developing health conditions. From the time I was 21-23 I was drinking a fifth of bourbon a few beers a day, every day. I started back recently after me and my long term girlfriend broke up. She was my second half and I immediately relapsed, drinking feels like the only thing that can put me to sleep. And the familiarity of being drunk came back so quickly and I feel like I’m a better person while drinking, even though it’s damaging to my already compromised health. I know nobody will probably see this. But I want to man up, take control of my anxiety and be sober. Doctors think alcohol/caffeine/tobacco abuse is what caused my health issues to start with. I went into cardiac arrest briefly at age 23. Ironically I drink to forget about the trauma and anxiety that event and my current health brings me. Again, I just want to know how to start the process of moving foward or how AA works
