Inventory items disappeared after maintenance!?

I was in the roads when maintenance started this morning thinking I would respawn back in the same place as usual. When I logged back in I was in the zone where I entered the Roads portal. Thing is I was missing items from my inventory!
Two 8.1 Major Poisons, two 7.1 Pork Pies and the loot I got off killing another player was damaged more than it was when I acquired it from his cold lifeless body.
Wth?!? How did that happen? I'm so confused!
