How do I keep getting bombed on by people off screen?

Mists. I'm alone, standing in the middle of nowhere. Not gathering or making any noise. Not even making gallop sounds.
NO ONE has come on or off my screen (using widescreen settings)
All of a sudden, an 8.4 DBS comes sprinting from way off screen, knowing exactly where I am.
How the fuck does this keep happening? Am I missing something?
This happens repeatedly. Are the radar hacks in this game that bad?
