Questions about alberta apprenticeship while living in Sask?

Post Body

I am currently seeking a fitting apprenticeship through AIT while living in Sask(albeit 2 mins from the border).

I am currently working for a Saskatchewan based company that has 2 plus years of work in Alberta so all my working days have been in Alberta. They told me that I can sign myself up for a blue book and they will sign me up after I get my book. I applied through alberta as on AIT’s website their eligibility requirements state either be living in Alberta or primarily working in the province.

I did the application and today got an email form the government saying I don’t qualify as I live in Sask which is in disagreement with what AIT’s website says and what I’ve been told from employers and coworkers. I don’t want ti go through Sask system and have no intention of working in Sask at all. I’ll be calling tomorrow but thought I’d ask here first as it’s too late in the day. Thanks!
