Are carbon monoxide detectors a requirement in Alberta?

I’ve just moved to Alberta from the UK, I’m a little confused on a few things and was hoping some local Albertans might help. I’m renting a house which has smoke alarms in, but no carbon monoxide detectors. My landlord is saying that it’s not a legal requirement to put in carbon monoxide detectors (for context this is a legal requirement in the UK) but I can’t find anything online to suggest one way or another.
