Akita skull changes at six months ?

I've noticed that the very top of the head of my JAI is changing now he's six months ... it was quite rounded but now there is kind of a ridge of bone forming running from ear to ear rather than nose to tail ... is that a normal thing ... I know his face is going to widen a bit ... is it the start of that ?
