hi r/ak47-
i'm new to AKs and pretty new to guns in general. a while back, KUSA had a sale on blemished KR103s, meaning they didn't have a chrome lined barrel. i picked one up, thinking it wouldn't matter to someone who shoots as infrequently as i
my last range day was like 2 months ago, and the rifle has been in storage ever since. when i removed it, i noticed visible rust inside the flash hider- and the bolt wouldn't budge. it wiggled slightly, but even stomping it with the butt on the ground wouldn't move it. WD40 is what finally cleared it up and now it moves normally
all i've shot out of it is tula, which apparently is non corrosive. it wasn't exposed to rain or humidity. even my friend, who has an AK of his own and is far more knowledgeable about guns, says the amount of rust seems pretty severe for a gun that's only been to the range a handful of times
i'll start cleaning it after every trip, which i should have been doing initially. has anyone else experienced this? should i ship it back to KUSA?
