Thanks for the tip! My father works with vintage cars and generally has five or six spare parts on hand. I definitely inherited that gene from him and don't intend on throwing anything out. I'm already lamenting vintage hardware availability because I have to replace the broken awning part and having little luck.

In one of my desperate internet searches. I'd gotten into the habit of checking ebay, Craigslist, and Airstream Classifieds every single day, but occasionally I would get frustrated at my lack of progress and search every corner of the internet. I ran across this particular Airstream on the website of an RV center (which was very surprising). They clearly did not want to deal with such an old trailer and were happy to let it go. We were nervous buying one so far away, but working with a business rather than an individual was comforting.

5,000 plus shipping. We weren't finding any (reasonably priced) Airstreams near us (on the border of California), so we expanded out search radius and found one in Texas.
