Hi, so I purchased an ASG Scorpion EVO Carbine a few days ago. The one I purchased is the Canadian version, which has a stock FPS of around 440 fps (1.8 joules) that is mentioned on Canadian retailer sites and printed on the box.
As my field has a FPS limit of 420 for non-dmr AEGs, I brought my Scorpion to an airsoft store, purchased a M110 spring, swapped the springs and did a chrono test in the store. I got around 270 to 280 FPS for all my shots (about 10 semi-auto).
I was confused so I swapped the springs back to the original one that came with my Carbine, did some more chrono tests and the result was about 350 FPS. I was confused, and I brought it to another store 40 mins away to do more chrono tests. Same result (around 105m per second, which is around 350fps; this store uses metric).
I was expecting around 440 fps out of the box, and some where between 340 to 380 fps with the new spring (m110). What is wrong with my Scorpion Carbine? Tomorrow will be my first game with the Scorpion.....
