Airsoft could be an awesome Olympic Sport

Reading Rainbow Six and there’s a great moment where the elite SAS and Rainbow troops discover they’re terrible at competition shooting and then Ding thinks aloud a very familiar thought to airsofters: PAPER TARGETS DON’T SHOOT BACK.
But I think Ding is wrong about the Gladiator throwback; AIRSOFT could be an Olympic sport where shooters compete against each other.
Maybe it’ll take a while but I’m hoping someone else finds this idea intriguing. Who would you want on a National Airsoft team?
