The story: My sons friend couldn't get his Airpod Pro to connect to his iPhone, so he bought new ones. He gave his old ones to my son and we are trying to resuscitate them :)
What I've done:
- The old owner removed the Pro's from his device and his "Find my"
- I reset the device and it connected to my phone momentarily. Only the left earbud was putting out sound.
- Cleaned the charging ports on both the case and the earbuds with rubbing alcohol/q-tip.
- Removed the device from my bluetooth and "find my" listings
- Attempted to reset again.
- Reset "network settings" and restarted phone
- Attempted to reconnect, but got nothing
- Ensured I am running most recent iOS
Where we are: The case is currently plugged in and flashing white, but when I open it it isn't automatically recognized by the phone, nor is it in the listing of bluetooth devices.
If I remove either the left earbud or both earbuds from the case, the light turns green. If just the left earbud is in the case, it returns to flashing white. The case also only shows lights when plugged in. When it was previously paired to my phone, it showed the case as 100% charged.
We aren't out any money here, but it'd be fun to find a fix and get a free pair. Any suggestions?
