Hi, all... started having an issue tonight with my AirPods Pro. I suspect it is due to the recent firmware update, but I didn’t explicitly look to see when I got the firmware update before the issue started happening, so I can’t be 100% sure. After the issue started, I checked and I know I’m definitely on 3A283 now... just don’t know how long that has been true.
Specifically, my right APP has developed a bit of a buzz... sounds kind of like a kazoo when people are talking on a podcast. Similarly fuzzy for music. Seems to be mostly for more bass-heavy sounds. I know buzzing in general is a common-ish issue, but it spontaneously started happening just tonight without any clear physical trauma to the AirPods Pro... was just sitting here in bed with them in their case, and when I took them out, it started. I generally keep both Noise Cancellation and Transparency off, so the issue is not due to that.
The weirdest thing is that the buzzing seems to vary in severity, and specifically it seems to change in severity when I angle my head in different directions (not just a little... very noticeably if I tilt my head from upright to parallel-with-the-ground). Which is why I especially suspect software, given the recent addition of the Spatial Audio feature. But I’m not using Spatial Audio yet, as I haven’t updated my iDevices to iOS/iPadOS 14. (I also could imagine that this is only an issue on iOS 13 due to some bug that they squashed in 14, but I’m not quite ready to upgrade yet so can’t test that hypothesis now.)
Anyway, I can give a ring to Apple Support... I guess just wondering if anyone else has encountered similar issues before I jump down that rabbit hole. Thanks!
