Workout app notifications from Apple Watch keeps pausing music/disconnecting on AirPods 4th generation

I keep having this issue; it’s basically what the title says. I turned off Siri announcements for my Apple Watch but every time I get a notification from the Workout app (i.e. reaching a mile while exercising), it will announce the notification or at the very least pause my music, and it sometimes will disconnect my AirPods from my phone as well. Has anyone else had this experience? Or know how to fix it?
