Adjusting breach seal?

I have the Crosman shockwave. 22 cal. Brake barrel. This is my first . 22 cal. A dalso my first break barrel rifle. I recently heard the matching of the barrel to gun is important fo achieving maximum pressure. Is this true? Should I check/adjust mine? Or is this only for , say, competition types? I hafta say I was kinda surprised at the simplistic, almost crude marriage of the two. They don't look all that precise in alignment. 🤨 Advise anyone?
