Iām looking to pick up my first air rifle, and want something that will last. Iām not looking for a starter air rifle, but rather something I can use for a while and not grow disappointed with, and hopefully pass down to future generations when the time comes.
After lurking on this subreddit, and praising the local shops. Im liking the following three that I can easily get second hand. This is because the local shops all treat Gamo as the top tier end all and be all of air rifles, and a new Gamo swarm here is $999.
Air arms tx200 mkiii - .177
Walther LGV Competition Ultra - .177
Weirauch HW80k - .22
All appear to be in visibly decent condition, but I donāt know what to look for specifically.
My main purpose will be plinking and target shooting with close by neighbors, but would like to be able to occasionally take a bunny rabbit or other similar sized pest at my extended familyās ālifestyle blockā.
So if you have any suggestions on which I should choose and why, or advice on buying a second hand air rifle please share.
There is also a Cometa Fusion in .22 (with a hawke 3-9x40 scope) thatās 1/3 the price of the three listed above, but I cannot find any real reviews (good or otherwise) on that rifle.
Also, 1 of the top three listed is my entire budget, so I canāt just buy them all and keep the one I like best.
