I have a flight from Toronto to Montreal tomorrow and then from Mtl to AMS
The flight might be delayed or could be from toronto to montreal and that would mean I would miss the translatlantic flight. So I wanted to know what are my options. After speaking to 5 reps, 3 incompetent/dozing off and non helpful and 2 superstars, here were the options presented by the rockstars.
Note: always call until you speak with someone who owns their job of helping people and has the competence to do that like no one else. You will always find. Most people get frustrated or shout, yell and or make an irrational decision.
Great options
- You'll know if there are any delayed hours in advance via your digital boarding pass. So you can...then
- Request to be put on an earlier flight out of Toronto Island airport (my original departure airport)
- Get a voucher for a cab ride to Pearson and there's a flight later in the evening around 9 pm.
I'll get there in an hour if my 6:30 PM flight out of YTZ is delayed as I'll arrive there hours in advance.
Assuming I already go to Montreal and miss my AC900 flight to Amsterdam which would make me arrive on Sat at 11 am Amsterdam time, then there's a KLM direct the next evening so although a bit inconvenient about spending time in Montreal or chiling at the airport, not a big bother. It just arrives the next day but super early in the morning like 7:30 am on Sun Oct 13th.
Wanted to share this with anyone else who might want to know what options are available to them in case their flight to the connection hub is delayed and they risk missing their main flight
