HI, i had a trip to Toronto for a intensive english course, i'm from México and i bought my ticket on feb 22, i had my eta and my passport ready, since the course was already paid the trip was a sure thing, the next week we are told that due to México and Canada relations, Canadá was asking for visa and my eta was canceled and i would have to try a visa.
Since this is my first trip out of country and the expenses were paid by my father (since i really dont have any money for this kind of stuff), when i submit all the papers for the visa i explained everything and send the papers supporting my claims, still i got denied on the visa, on the basis of the agents not thinking i'm returning to México.
The school change the trip to other country that i could enter (UK), since i got the cheapest fare, i wasn't expecting the visa issue, i cannot make changes or get a refund, i understand that my ticket is like that due to the fare, i called AC to try and upgrade to a fare that i could make changes but they told me it can't be done, i'm willing to pay the diff on the fare, and the only thing they can do for me is refund the tax, the travel was 980 cad and they offer to refund the tax (120 cad)
I understand it is not a AC issue, but it is also not really a me issue, it is a migration issue, and i told them this, asked for a fare upgrade or any solucion but they say no since the fare doesn't allow any type of change, and with the first denial and the prossesing time of the visa i am pretty sure i won't get a visa in time, or even approved, my trip is due o may 18 with a return flight o june 1, is there anything else i could do? I don't wanna lose almost 900 cad, since i also need to get a flight to london, also flying to Toronto and then to london is not possible since i would need a transit visa and the time for prossesing the travel visa is the same as a regular visa
